I attended a potluck this Saturday organized by people here in our community at Sea Mio ....We brought three dishes ... I was excited! Why wouldn't I be? 40-50 people bring their specialty dishes or bought food (which dumbass bought PIZZA HUT!*eyes the white dude), rooftop on the 26th floor with a beautiful view of the Danshui, a sweet warm sunset, ..good food, alcohol, balloons...what can go wrong?

Me and two chicks helped with these crappy balloon decorations...


My mom stood by her lobster salad and told everyone to try it..She even tried: "oooh, who made this salad? It's sooo good..You must try it!" Sighs

Biking in Danshui & pool party 15/08/09

After 2.5 hrs of biking, we rested..sipping on some cold milk tea, eating ice cream and shaved ice!
We biked from Danshui mrt station to Hongshulin and then all the way to Fisherman's wharf to see a failed sunset (too cloudy).

Two hours later, Jenny and Nancy also came to my part of town for a huge summer pool party being held in the boonies...
Thanks to balla' Nancy :) We got Free entrance, booze, food, Davidoff promo gifts + tobacco, swimsuit eye-candy (for the boys)...Full-on debauchery! Too bad we wuz all too old to stay until 4 am..We left a bit past midnight :P

Luke's LAST day in Taiwan after 3 months stay!

and he wanted to visit the Chiang Kai Shek Memorial for the first time..(Note: It's a popular tourist attraction and usually one of the first things you see when you come to Taipei).

P.S. I heart Nancy's roomate's "attention whore" long-haired wiener dog!

These were taken from a gallery in the Cheng Kai Shek memorial MRT station.The title of the exhibition was called "Cats in Danshui"...and I did notice lots of wild cats wandering around Danshui city..and these guys took pics of them!! Some made me smile, most were awwws....

Must be fun working at Pixar although the process of making a Pixar movie seem soooo complex..must appreciate their hardwork by not downloading their movies (Speaking for myself of course)

Since the pool re-opened over the weekend at Sea Mio..I've been going almost every day since it is so godarn convenient...and boy does it feel good to swim on a hot sunny day!! It has been years I have not swam and I'm glad you don't forget how to swim!

Typhoon Marakot causing havoc in south of Taiwan..

I am North..we're pretty lucky not to be going through landslides, collapsing bridges, floods..Even though the eye of the typhoon went straight for North of Taiwan (where I'm at)...the tail of the typhoon is causing disastrous outcomes in south of Taiwan..
Typhoons happen often in Taiwan especially during the summer..some big, some small..people are somehow adapted to it..but once in a while, you get some really unimaginable scenario...

Parents would have been so pissed off...

if I were to get hurt from a scooter accident because I went to feed these kitties...
Mom specifically told me NOT to ride a scooter too.
Thank god it wasn't me and that it wasn't too serious...I wouldn't have wanted to die wearing a big ugly yellow raincoat for men ;p

So this guy on a scooter in front of me didn't see this big pipe that fell off from a truck, rode over it and flew right off his scooter!!... and I saw it all because I was 5 seconds behind him...He looked okay. Frazzled. He was sitting up and conscious and looking at his bloody hand.

I was just coming back from Raymond's and I had taken off my glasses because it was raining ...While riding, I was just thinking that I should slow down a bit because I couldn't see clearly without my glasses and then I saw the guy fall off...I could have missed the pipe too!

Well, on a lighter fluffier note..these are the two cats I'm taking care of for the week!

My first day at ICRT radio station was DA bomb!

Right when I sat at my desk (well, the desk belongs to the copywriter who is on vacation) at 11 am ..even before the computer was turned on, I was told I had a deadline at 12 pm to meet! AT 11:30..I was still not logged into the computer because the IT guy was busy! But then the production manager went out for lunch and so that gave me an extra hour to write something up.

Throughout the day, I was given 3 ad liners to write up and also write up short 10-15 secs radio segments about Hakka culture. I finished 2 liners today and almost finished the Hakka stuff. One liner was for a free pre-screening for a Taiwanese film about baseball and the other was for a basketball competition happening this weekend!

I was told that I only needed to come in for a couple of hours today but I end up staying until I was told to go home...which was only at 6 pm ish. Maybe because I'm getting paid by the hour so they do not wish I work OT.

I am looking forward to doing more next week! I love the work dynamic over there!
