Hsini the copywriter...

My first day at ICRT radio station was DA bomb!

Right when I sat at my desk (well, the desk belongs to the copywriter who is on vacation) at 11 am ..even before the computer was turned on, I was told I had a deadline at 12 pm to meet! AT 11:30..I was still not logged into the computer because the IT guy was busy! But then the production manager went out for lunch and so that gave me an extra hour to write something up.

Throughout the day, I was given 3 ad liners to write up and also write up short 10-15 secs radio segments about Hakka culture. I finished 2 liners today and almost finished the Hakka stuff. One liner was for a free pre-screening for a Taiwanese film about baseball and the other was for a basketball competition happening this weekend!

I was told that I only needed to come in for a couple of hours today but I end up staying until I was told to go home...which was only at 6 pm ish. Maybe because I'm getting paid by the hour so they do not wish I work OT.

I am looking forward to doing more next week! I love the work dynamic over there!

Saturday: My day started at 6 am..

Daddy has a healthy bladder sack! No more rocks?
*Mommy gave me a judgmental look when she saw me take a pic.

After clinic, we went for a walk in the park..Da an park..it's like Central Park in NY but not.

We observed squirrels..there were millions of them!

Aphrodisiac shot. Our brunch was oyster rice vermicelli from this renowned place near Longshan temple. The oysters were HUGE and porc intestines were as well..My dad loved it..I was iffy after swallowing down 10 big pieces of oysters at 10 am but it was good...If I go again, I'll take a small bowl.

After nappy time, dad and I went to le Toyota dealership...

le test drive

Free drink box served at the dealership..or maybe someone left it behind? PRO SWEAT drink..yum! Sweaty.

Because I can make you drool...

Lunch on a Sunday with the parents...we finished everything. Maybe a few cubes of tofu left.

I'll try not to make this a food blog but um..so no reviews from me. And dad and mom really insists for me to take pics of each dish... mom will actually chopstick block my dad so that I can take a pic of the untouched dish. Mom wants me to show them off to my sisters... so I think that she wants to slowly lure them into coming back to Taiwan with pics of food.

Old classmates..

These were my old classmates at Tam Kang..Guess who's the Japanese and Taiwanese amongst the Indonesians?
This was for Richard's farewell...Richard be the one who's most pale. I'm the darkest!

Keiko #15 has been replaced with Keiko #16 for 20 nt!

Almost all my pets were named Keiko thus the #s.

Keiko wouldn't stop moving for me to take a decent shot.
So it's only been a day since I got him so he's not used to me yet and shy away when I get close to him. Hopefully, one day, he will be able to do tricks like Keiko!

To clarify...

I didn't have 15 fishes before. It's numbered #15-16 because I was just making up a number to represent the number of times I've named a pet of mine Keiko...but now that I think of it. I've had two pet turtles named Pepsi and Cola. A goldfish named Goldie. A tank of fishies with no names. Hamsters were all named Keiko. When I had two hamsters..one was Keiko and the newer one was Keiko jr. Yea..just all 5 hamsters I've had in my life were named Keiko.
I named almost all my beta fishes I've owned Keiko except for my last two Beta fishies in Montreal ..because I had two at once, I couldn't name both of them Keiko. So they were Takeshi and Kaneshiro. mmm.. I want a hammie. Would mommy kill me?

So 台 !

In shi lin night market..
Unlike in Montreal, tis not illegal to consume alcohol in public..Unless I get drunk and start cursing at people.

Authentic Taiwanese cuisne...

My parents and I randomly found this Taiwanese restaurant near Zhu wei mrt stop and it has now become one of our favorite places..We have been twice so far and will probably go back again. We brought Christina along the second time and got to order more to try new more things!
Stir fried garlic snow pea leaves, cooked bamboo with sweet mayo, Hakka stir-fry, taro+shrimp fried stuff, Free range chicken (yum!) and one of my favs..bitter cucumber with salty eggs!

Keiko, my pet beta fish, passed away this evening..

Place/date of birth: Thailand? in....time of death: Today, unknown time. Bad habits: When he is hungry, he likes to jump out of the water when I get near the bowl and place a finger above the water.

I didn't realize I have no pic of Keiko..or I can't find the one I took a while back!
So this is a pic I found with Keiko in it. It has not been in my room for awhile. I had placed him in the living room..where it died.

I woke up today and I saw him swimming in his bowl like usual. All is good. I fed Keiko at around 12-1 pm.
My parents came home around 5-6. Dad usually plays with Keiko (placing finger above bowl and see Keiko jump) and today, when he went to see him, he asked me, where the fish was. I'm like...What do you mean where is the fish? the fish is there. ..He's like no. I said..What do you mean no?? I take a look at the bowl..Keiko was gone..and mom takes a look too...GONE! So I know I didn't eat it so I was sure it jumped out but we didn't see him near the bowl or any signs of water if the fish had jumped out. We're looking around the table and finally my mom points to the floor, on the other side of the table..THERE IT IS!!

My dad picks him up..it's all dry, dusty and...dead.

I examine the crime scene..i see marks on the table all across ..from the bowl..half way across the table and onto the floor.

Keiko committed suicide..

RIP...
